A second wine, Campo Alegre, a baby brother to Campo Eliseo was produced in 2007 for the first time using the exact same attention to detail, but which is lighter in style.

Franรงois Lurton and Michel Rolland decided to combine their international winemaking experience of over 70 years in the vineyards of the world and produce a premium wine in the somewhat overlooked DO Toro region, in north-west Spain neighbor to Ribeira del Duero.

Alegre is a musical expression which means โ€œin a quick lively tempo.โ€

A variant of the famous Tempranillo, a Spanish red grape variety par excellence from the heart of La Rioja and Ribera del Duero. It produces very fineย and highly aromatic wines. It is the main variety in the Toro appellation.

Aging 14 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

Tasting noteย 

  • EYE:ย Lovely color of morello cherries.
  • NOSE:ย The nose is expressive with aromas of red fruits, cocoa and light notes of spice.
